Séarlait Carr began dancing at Carmel Dance Center at the age of three, competing at various local and national dance competitions.  Amy Western, Séarlait’s artistic director at the time, saw her love of ballet and introduced her to her childhood studio, the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet.  Séarlait fell in love with the atmosphere and discipline and sought out to find a ballet studio closer to home. She later joined Central Indiana Academy of Dance (CIAOD) under the direction of Suzann DeLay.  She officially joined Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), the house company of CIAOD, in 2011.  She was a member of the senior company from 2012-2015, performing various roles in The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppélia, Sleeping Beauty, and Peter Pan.  She also danced in contemporary works with Richard Rein, Tong Wang, Carlos Dos Santos, and Ashley Walton.    

Since starting her studies at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Séarlait has had the honor of collaborating with Sydney Skybetter, Stephanie Martinez, Uri Sands, Roderick George, the Urban Bush Women, Zoe Scofield, Taylor Rodeman, Margaret Falcone (BFA ’19), Katie Kuntz (BFA ’19), and Andrea Muniz (BFA  '19).  Her love of acting led her to a physical theater group called SynTheater under Simona Minns in their 2016-2017 season. She also has performed in various staged readings for local playwrights. She likes to spend her spare time collaborating with local artists with dance, music composition, photography, and videography.
